About Boulder
Boulder Care is a digital clinic offering long-term support and treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders through medication, recovery support services, and whole-person care.
We provide high quality, evidence-based treatment grounded in care, respect, and unconditional support. Designed by addiction medicine specialists, our program is based on years of clinical experience, medical research, and results from real participants. We provide the resources and support to help you succeed on your own terms, wherever you are in your journey.

On-Demand Visits
Unlike most traditional treatment programs, Boulder doesn’t require frequent visits to a clinic. Our program fits into your life—no more long commutes or taking time away from work or family to get treatment.
We use a team-based approach to care for our patients, meaning you may not see the same Provider or Prescribing Clinician at every visit. Instead, you can join a virtual visit when it's time to renew your prescription—whenever it is convenient for you.
For your first visit, you will be able to join the queue as soon as our enrollment team has been able to verify your information.
You simply go to the app, and once you are eligible, you’ll see a button to join the queue for the Pop-in Clinic. Please note that once you join the queue, you may still experience wait times of up to 90-120 minutes. You can go about your life while you wait, but keep your phone at the ready.
Tip: If you’ve already spoken to an enrollment specialist and they’ve confirmed your insurance and information, you may already be eligible to start a visit. If not, you may need to complete some tasks in the app before you move on to this step.
To learn more about how visits in the Pop-in Clinic work, please visit boulder.care/on-demand.

Meeting Your Care Team
At Boulder, we believe participants and their care providers should make the important decisions together. Our interdisciplinary team of providers who collaborate with you to craft a treatment plan that fits your needs:
Team Clinicians (Doctor or Nurse Practitioner) have special training in addiction treatment and can prescribe medication to reduce cravings and help you achieve better health.
Peer Recovery Specialists have lived experience of recovery and will work with you to understand your unique goals and challenges. You can meet with a Peer regularly, who will be there to support you every step of the way. Or you can meet with available peers ad hoc anytime you need in the Pop-in Clinic.
Care Advocates can help with everything from issues at the pharmacy to questions about your insurance—so you can focus on your recovery. They will also meet with you before your first clinician visit to help take your history and set you up for success.
Case Managers can help you with social services like finding resources for employment, housing, or even phones. They are a little like social workers. They are available anytime you need in the Pop-in Clinic, or can schedule an appointment if recommended by other members of your care team.
Working on your recovery may open the door to improving other parts of your life as well. Boulder is here to support you with more than just medical treatment. Things we can help you with can include food, identification, transportation and driver's licenses, housing, navigating the legal system or family court, and more. Talk to your Care Advocate, Peer Recovery Specialist, or Case Manager about how Boulder can support you.
Medications for Addiction Treatment
Boulder looks for the best evidence to help people recover from opioid and alcohol use disorders. Certain medications have been proven to reduce use of these substances and improve people's lives.
Once you meet with your Clinician, they will determine what prescription is best for you. For Opioid Use Disorder, Boulder most often prescribes Suboxone, a form of Buprenorphine that is well researched and has been shown to be very effective at helping people achieve their goals for long-term recovery.
Want to learn what to expect when starting on medication? You’ve got options.
And what about drug tests? Boulder never uses drug tests to determine treatment eligibility, and will never punish you for returning to use. But some states do require ongoing tests as part of your recovery process. Want to know about how we handle oral fluid testing when it is required? Read more here.
You've Got People Now
