Enrolling was a huge step to be proud of. You don't have to take the next one until you're ready, and a lot of people sit with this part for a while. That's normal. When you do start, here's exactly what happens.

Getting to your first visit

At Boulder, visits with providers happen through secure video visits in the Boulder app. Video visits take place in the Clinic section of the app, our digital version of a walk-in clinic.

  • No appointment scheduling required
  • Join when it's convenient for you
  • Meet with a provider through the app

What your first visit is like

Your first visit is a video call with a clinician in the Boulder app. They'll ask about your history, talk through what you're looking for, explain different options, and set you up with a prescription that day if you're ready to move forward. The conversation should take 30 to 45 minutes.

  • We don't require you to be sober, and we'll never discharge you for using.
  • You set the pace, including how and when you start any medication.
  • Starting a visit doesn't lock you into anything.

Not ready to talk with a clinician?

No problem. Here are some other ways you can explore:

  • Talk with a Peer Recovery Specialist, someone with lived experience of recovery, about where you're at, how Boulder works, or anything else on your mind.
  • Talk with our Support team about what to expect in your visit.

Our door is always open for you.
